Choose the Tactical Tool
- Check inning, score, outs, runners, matchup, and the immediate objective.
- Use a Basic Strategy Card, a player-specific Signature Strategy Card, or an Order for its actual function.
- Read the number, player effect, remaining uses, and any active bonuses.
- Do not spend a limited tool when a simpler choice already solves the moment.
The Three Tactical Tools
| Tool | Where it appears | What matters |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Strategy | Strategy Game decision | Higher displayed number means a greater success rate. |
| Signature Strategy | Yellow player-specific Strategy Card | Determined by Personality and limited to one use per player per game. |
| Order | Pause menu → Orders → choose a dugout player | Temporary offensive or defensive effect; normal games provide three uses for each side. |
Orders Are the Official 2026 Name
Open the pause menu and select Orders—the English description reads “Issue orders to your players.” The game asks you to choose a player, then shows that player’s effect. Verified examples include Praise, Give Precise Advice, Give Advice, Encourage, and Hype Up. Older community guides may call the system Messenger because of the Japanese term 伝令 (denrei), but Orders is the current English localization.
Offense and Defense Have Separate Order Pools
A normal game provides three Offensive Orders and three Defensive Orders, with remaining uses shown at the top of the player-selection screen. Decide which side of the game needs help before opening the menu, then compare the listed player effects rather than choosing only by school year or overall ability.
Strategy Cards Resolve Dugout Decisions
Basic Strategy Cards control the tactical flow, and their displayed number represents success rate: higher is better. Yellow Signature Strategy Cards are player-specific, determined by Personality, and limited to one use per player per game.
Before Making the Selection
- Define the immediate objective: advance, score, prevent a run, escape an inning, or stabilize the situation.
- Compare the available card numbers or player Order effects.
- Check Signature uses and the separate Offensive and Defensive Order counts.
- Review the combined active-effects panel after using either system.
- Keep enough flexibility for the highest-leverage situations still likely to occur.
The Repeatable Plan
- Basic Strategy, Signature Strategy, and Orders are related but distinct.
- Situation, value, player effect, and remaining uses belong in one decision.
- Spend limited tools where they materially change win probability or protect the team.
