Choose the Control Mode by Purpose
- Decide whether the match is for winning, development, evaluation, or improving your own execution.
- Select Strategy Game, Spectate, Team Gameplay, or Player Focus according to the decisions you want to control.
- Set the persistent lineup, roles, pitcher plan, Condition response, and Orders priorities.
- Use score, matchup, revealed information, and player performance instead of following the opening plan blindly.

What Each Mode Puts in Your Hands
| Mode | Your primary responsibility |
|---|---|
| Strategy Game | Choose tactical cards and manage important situations from the dugout. |
| Spectate | Prepare the team, observe natural performance, and intervene with managerial decisions. |
| Team Gameplay | Directly execute batting, pitching, fielding, and baserunning situations for the team. |
| Player Focus | Directly experience the situations involving one selected player. |
Direct Control Does Not Replace Team Building
Team Gameplay makes your execution part of every selected situation, but the players still bring their attributes, Special Abilities, Condition, Morale, and development into the game. Strong preparation widens the margin for imperfect input; great input cannot erase every roster disadvantage.
Player Focus Narrows the Experience to One Athlete
Player Focus limits direct attention to the situations involving one selected player. Use it when the purpose is to experience or evaluate that individual role without controlling the entire team. It is a perspective choice, not automatically a stronger or weaker competitive option.
Strong and Weak Locations Are Revealed Information
Official help states that an opposing pitcher’s Strong and Weak Locations begin hidden and become visible as the game progresses. Early plate appearances therefore gather information. Later decisions can use revealed Weak Locations for a more favorable approach while avoiding known Strong Locations when the situation permits.
Adapt the Offensive Plan
- Observe the pitcher and avoid assuming hidden locations from one result.
- Update Strategy Cards, Orders, and direct-control targets.
- Combine the revealed location with count, runners, matchup, and remaining tactical resources.
- Reassess the new opponent rather than carrying over the previous pitcher’s map.
Preparation Before Any Control Mode
- Confirm the persistent lineup and defensive arrangement.
- Assign a pitcher workload plan and usable relief options.
- Check Condition, Morale, abilities, and player roles.
- Define what information or result this game should provide.
- Change control mode when the purpose of the game changes.
The Repeatable Plan
- Choose control mode by the decisions you want to own.
- Remember that roster quality and preparation remain active under direct control.
- Update the plan as Strong and Weak Locations and other game information are revealed.
