Scout for the Missing Job

A useful acquisition solves a lineup, rotation, bullpen, bench, defensive, or regulation problem. The official 2021 structure uses Spi Coins and Scout Tickets for player scouting, while trades provide another route when their conditions are met.

Begin with minimum functional coverage: enough starters, relievers, position eligibility, bench flexibility, and defense to survive a tournament. Upgrade luxury positions only after the roster can complete its basic jobs.

Acquisition Routes

Roster Audit

AreaQuestionWarning sign
Starting pitchingCan the rotation cover the tournament schedule? One ace followed by unusable depth
BullpenAre there reliable options for different innings and matchups?Every close game depends on one reliever
LineupCan the order create runners and drive them in?Ratings concentrated in one hitter
DefenseAre important positions covered by suitable players?Strong bats forced into damaging defensive roles
BenchCan the team respond to injury, matchup, or regulation needs? No positional flexibility

Key Takeaways

  • Acquire roles, not just names.
  • Standard scouts, tickets, special scouts, and trades answer different needs.
  • Audit pitching depth and position coverage before chasing duplicates or luxury upgrades.
