- Decide whether the program is developing, preparing, competing, transitioning, or rebuilding.
- Identify the next tournament, graduation, scouting window, or new-class transition.
- Use open periods for development that cannot be rushed during competition.
- Do not allow the current tournament to hide the vacancies arriving after graduation.
The Annual Rhythm Connects Every System
Hakkyū alternates between daily development, Practice Games, official tournaments, seasonal events, graduation, scouting, and rebuilding. A weekly action makes sense only in relation to that rhythm: training creates the team that competes, tournaments produce results and experience, and transitions determine whether the program can repeat the cycle.
The Four Planning Phases

Winter Is a Roster-Building Window
Official games become less frequent, but winter is not empty time. Player Scouting is available from November through February, and the period supports long-term development, roster planning, and preparation for the next competitive cycle.
The Japan Map Tracks Selected Results Only
KONAMI’s official 2024–2025 FAQ states that the highest Japan Map result is affected only by the Summer Prefectural Tournament, Summer Koshien Tournament, and Spring Koshien Tournament. Spring prefectural and regional, autumn prefectural and regional, and autumn national results do not change that record.
Before Advancing a Month
- Mark the next fixed competition and work backward.
- Check whether current seniors are blocking necessary experience for their replacements.
- Review pitching depth, Condition, Morale, Trust, and key ability plans.
- Use November–February scouting to address the vacancies you forecast.
- Reserve shop, facility, and schedule actions for a named need and deadline.
The Repeatable Plan
- Treat each year as development, preparation, competition, and renewal.
- Use open calendar periods to solve problems before tournament pressure.
- Track the health of the next roster as carefully as the results of the current one.
