Build from the Most Realistic Upgrade Path

A useful draw decision compares what is already secured with how many cards can improve it. A pair has clear routes to two pair, three of a kind, a full house, or four of a kind. A scattered collection of unrelated cards may have a higher theoretical ceiling but a much lower practical chance of paying.

Treat every held card as a commitment. Keep it only when it protects a made hand, improves a realistic next hand, or carries a valuable bonus that justifies the reduced redraw space.

Practical Draw Guide

Current drawDefault approachReason
Made pairHold the pair and redraw the restSeveral common upgrades remain available
Two pairUsually hold both pairsOne matching rank can complete a full house
Three of a kindHold the setThe hand already pays and still has strong upgrades
No hand, no valuable bonusRedraw all cardsKeeping unrelated cards reduces improvement chances
No hand with Practice or Double Up bonusJudge the bonus against the lost redrawThe extra opportunity may be worth preserving
Straight or flush drawTreat cautiously unless the interface strongly rewards itThese paths often require more specific cards

A Simple Decision Order

  • Identify the made hand first.
  • Check Practice and Double Up bonuses second.
  • Count how many held cards restrict the redraw.
  • Choose the highest-value realistic path—not the rarest possible result.
